After more than a decade on our screens, Arno Greeff is officially switching scripts.
The actor recently shared that after 12 years in the acting game, he is stepping away to pursue something completely different, real estate. And yes, the announcement has definitely kept fans on their toes.
In a video filmed inside his very lush living area - the interior design alone deserves its own show - Greeff opened up about the decision and where the idea began.
“Long before I became an actor I went for an interview to become a real estate agent,” he explained. “But then the acting blew up so I pursued it.”
And pursue it he did.
Many South African viewers will know him best from the hit Netflix series "Blood & Water", where he played Chris Ackerman and built a loyal fan base. But while the cameras were rolling, another interest quietly stayed parked in the background.
According to Greeff, property has been popping up in his journals for years. “If you’ve been looking at my journal entries the past 12 years, there’s one thing that stands out… property.”
Now listen, while it’s very easy to imagine this hottie with a body strolling through luxury homes on something like "Selling Sunset" or "Listing Cape Town", Greeff says the passion runs deeper than just pretty houses and commission cheques. This has been brewing for a hot minute.
“I have always wanted to be involved with property in some kind of way. That’s the reason I bought this house and started renovating it with my wife. But we loved it too much and decided to stay.”
Couple goals!
If you’ve seen snippets of the renovation, it’s clear this isn’t just a random side hobby he picked up between acting gigs.
The space reflects a real love for transforming a house into something special, the kind of glow-up that makes property lovers weak in the knees.
And the move is already underway.
“Last week Monday I started my new job in real estate. Now I’m in the process of getting my license to become a real estate agent and I’m looking at other properties to buy and flip.”
House flipping, for those who don’t live on property TikTok, has become a major trend in the real estate world. The idea sounds simple although, let’s be honest, it definitely helps to have money first.
You buy a property that needs some love, renovate it to boost its value, and then sell it for a profit. When it works, it can turn into a proper business - part design project, part smart investment strategy.
It's giving "Flip it like Disick".
From actor to property player, Greeff is clearly ready for his next chapter. And if his renovation skills are anything to go by, this new career might just be his best role yet.
