DJ Masoodah is off the market: celebrating her engagement and new beginnings

DJ Masoodah and radio presenter, whose real name is Masoodah Harris, has been quietly making waves in Cape Town’s nightlife and radio scene, and now, she’s giving fans a reason to celebrate off the decks.

Known for her eclectic sets, warm energy and ear for golden oldies and house grooves, Masoodah recently gave herself two big blessings: she bought her first home … and then announced she’s engaged.

She now holds a place in the local DJ scene: spinning Afro grooves, ’90s R&B, house tracks, and nostalgic throwbacks while also moonlighting as a radio presenter. Her fans know her not just for the music, but for the energy and authenticity she brings to every set.

But this time, life threw in a melody of gains. Word is that DJ Masoodah recently became a first-time homeowner, a major milestone in a city where owning property feels like winning life’s lottery. 

And as if the keys to her own place weren’t enough, she followed up with another surprise: an engagement announcement via social media.

For many locals, this is proof that hard work, hustle and staying true to your roots can translate into real-life wins. Masoodah’s journey resonates, a Cape Town girly who refused to be boxed in by expectation; instead, she rewrote the script, found her own rhythm, and turned her passion into progress.

These days, engagements don’t just happen quietly; there’s always a full-on photoshoot, and DJ Masoodah’s was no exception. Her boyfriend, now fiancé, Lyell Coetzee, definitely pulled out all the romantic stops. 

I even caught her shedding a tear in one snap, and like, can you blame her?
