Dlamini filed a complaint at the Johannesburg Equality Court, accusing MacG and his "Podcast and Chill" co-host Sol Phenduka of hate speech and discrimination following a podcast episode.

The media personality asked for a public apology, R1.5 million for GBV survivors and training for both hosts. MacG admitted he sometimes makes mistakes, described his words as speculations and offered to improve his apology.

He said he is willing to mediate and to take the training if the court requires it, but he disagreed with the demand for the R1.5 million donation and argued the matter could be pursued in civil court.
