Katy Perry’s birthday celebration in Paris has turned into the moment that confirmed one of the year’s most unexpected pairings.

The pop star was photographed hand in hand with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over the weekend, marking their first public appearance as a couple.

According to “TMZ”, the couple attended a cabaret show at the famous Crazy Horse Paris on Saturday, October 25, where Perry celebrated her 41st birthday.

The couple was seen leaving the theatre together, smiling as they made their way to a waiting car. Perry stunned in a red dress paired with black heels and a sleek ponytail that she put in a bun, while Trudeau wore a classic all-black suit, keeping simple and fit for a date night.

This marks their first public appearance together since romance rumours began circulating earlier this year.

Perry and Trudeau, 53, were first seen together on a date in Montreal over the summer, shortly after Perry’s split from her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom in June.

Trudeau separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, after 18 years of marriage in 2023.

Their connection seemed to grow quietly away from the spotlight, with the couple later pictured in September sharing a kiss aboard a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara.

According to reports, Trudeau had “been pursuing” Perry since their time together in Canada when he flew in to see the singer during a tour break.

Back in July, Trudeau was spotted attending one of Perry’s “Lifetimes Tour” concerts at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Fans shared videos online showing him watching the show alone.

In one clip, he was seen enjoying the performance and dancing along to Perry’s 2010 hit “Teenage Dream”.

The tour began in Mexico City in April, supporting the pop singer’s latest album “143”, and is set to wrap up in December.

While neither of them has publicly commented on their relationship, their Paris outing appears to be a crystal clear sign that the pair are official not only behind closed doors but also in public.

A bit about Trudeau for those not into politics

Trudeau served as Canada's 23rd prime minister from 2015 to 2025.

Before stepping down in 2025, he spent more than a decade leading the Liberal Party, a role he took on in 2013.

Trudeau represented the Papineau constituency in Parliament from 2008 and was also appointed as Canada’s Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Youth from 2015 to 2018.
