Checkers Sixty60, the online shopping platform from Shoprite, has unveiled Pixie — a Smart AI shopping assistant designed to revolutionise the consumer experience.

Developed entirely in-house by ShopriteX, Pixie aims to predict the purchasing needs of users and simplify the shopping process like never before.

At the heart of Pixie’s functionality is its ability to learn from individual shopping behaviours. By analysing each user's purchasing habits, restocking patterns, and preferences, Pixie curates product recommendations that align closely with what customers need at any given time.

The newly introduced Smart Basket feature enhances convenience further by presenting a sleek interface for users. Now, customers can effortlessly swipe through product options — swiping up to remove or swiping down to add items to their baskets. This innovation means that finding and reordering regularly bought items has become a breeze, and the era of endless searching is becoming a thing of the past.

Moreover, Pixie doesn’t just stop at product suggestions. It intelligently offers personalised deals based on users' buying histories, ensuring that discounts and promotions are relevant and targeted rather than randomly assigned. This will not only save customers time but also money, creating a win-win shopping environment.

Neil Schreuder, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer for the Shoprite Group, said this is the dawn of using the best of AI to make shopping simpler and more personalised for consumers.

"Pixie is like a little friend, assisting each customer quietly in the background, making shopping and saving effortless. Shopping used to be something you did. But now, it’s something Pixie, your personalised shopping assistant, handles for you. It’s shopping, magically simplified," he said.
