Reddam House Durbanville achieves historic success with 15 Cambridge awards in 2025

Reddam House Durbanville has announced that its pupils achieved 15 Cambridge awards during the November 2025 Cambridge International examination series, including four Top in the World distinctions.
According to the school, this is the highest number of Top in the World awards achieved by the school to date. The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards recognise pupils who achieve high marks in Cambridge examinations written in more than 40 countries.
The school said Mathematics was among its strongest-performing subjects, with three pupils obtaining 100% marks across International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and AS Level examinations.
Mia Ivan earned the "Top in the World" award for AS Level Mathematics (100%) and for AS Level Accounting.

The four Top in the World awards were awarded to:
- Sebastian Herbert for IGCSE Mathematics
- Mia Ivan for AS Level Mathematics
- Mia Ivan again for AS Level Accounting
- Karli Kennard for AS Level Mathematics
The school further stated that Mia Ivan achieved first place in South Africa for performance across four AS Level subjects.
Additional Top in South Africa awards were achieved by:
- Youkyum Kim for A Level Mathematics and AS Level Computer Science
- Lukholo Mgudlwa for IGCSE Biology and IGCSE Music
- Kai Mallela for IGCSE Physics
- Boni Yan for IGCSE First Language English
- Asmaa Thomas for IGCSE Business Studies
- Kenah Seba for IGCSE Art and Design
- Yafei Wang for AS Level Chinese Language
- Oliver Cloete for IGCSE Foreign Language Spanish

Reddam House Durbanville stated that several pupils have already enrolled or applied to universities locally and internationally.
According to the school, Youkyum Kim received an offer to study Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and is completing accelerated A Levels in Further Mathematics and Physics.
The school said Mia Ivan is studying Chemical Engineering at Stellenbosch University, while Karli Kennard is pursuing Actuarial Science at the same institution.
Current Grade 12 learners Lukholo Mgudlwa and Kai Mallela have applied to study Medicine at the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University, according to the school.
Executive head Barry Nieuwoudt said the results reflected the school’s academic programme and learner performance.
"Achieving our highest number of Top in the World awards, particularly with such outstanding results in Mathematics, speaks to the calibre of our students and the strength of our academic programme. We are equally proud of the breadth of achievement across so many subjects," he said.
Ravi Nadasen, chief executive of Inspired Education Group Africa and the Middle East, said the results demonstrated strong performance across multiple subjects and levels.
