In an inspiring tale of resilience and artistry, students from Roosendaal Secondary School in Delft are set to make their film debut in the gripping crime action thriller Wolf In Sheep's Clothing. This ambitious project, written and directed by South African filmmaker Nic Matthee, is not just a film; it is a powerful narrative that captures the struggle of a young woman ensnared by her dire circumstances, driven to seek justice outside the bounds of traditional methods.
Among the emerging talents is Grade 10 student Shaney Wyngaard, who is overjoyed at her casting as the supporting character “Muis.” With a burgeoning passion for stage and screen, Wyngaard recalls the moment that set her on this path.
"I came across an article regarding acting classes and decided to give it a try because such opportunities are quite rare in our communities. Upon entering the class, I encountered like-minded creative individuals from both my area and beyond."

As Wyngaard navigated the joys of performing arts, from props to makeup, she was unconsciously preparing for her role in an action film that would challenge her creative limits. "We worked with a script and engaged in active exercises during the class, not knowing I was preparing myself for an action movie,” she laughed.
The film centres on Lizel Landrieu, a character powerfully portrayed by actress Nadia Gouws, who transforms from a victim of brutal assault into a determined force of revenge. clarity: Lizel’s chilling journey involves hunting down her aggressors while maintaining an innocent facade, ultimately revealing a fierce, unyielding spirit that transforms her into a cold, calculated avenger.
Leshay Louw, another promising student at Roosendaal Secondary School, shared her sentiments on this transformative experience.
"The journey thus far has been an incredible experience. My mother supported me during her visit and witnessed the magic behind the scenes, which made her immensely proud of my progress."
Moreover, “Wolf In Sheep's Clothing addresses critical societal issues such as corruption within the justice system and gender-based violence. It deliberately refrains from glamorising the violence, instead peeling back the layers of harsh realities that women face.

Gouws emphasised this point, stating, "As an actress, I believe this will resonate with many women who suffer significant harm to their identity and do not seek help to regain their dignity." Through her character’s misguided belief that revenge can heal emotional wounds, the film urges viewers to reflect on the dark pull of vengeance.
Filming has already faced numerous challenges, including title changes and screenplay revisions between 2025 and 2026. Despite encountering a snake on set and a few prop issues, the cast and crew persevered. With locations spanning Century City, Milnerton, Delft, and Killarney Gardens, they are nearing completion, with just three pivotal scenes left to film, including a dramatic sequence at the Ysterplaat Airforce base.
Director Nic Matthee believes Wolf In Sheep's Clothing will stand out among previous projects for its strong messages encouraging women to confront their internal struggles. With elements of crime, corruption, and thrilling action, the film delicately illustrates the extremes one might go to in pursuit of justice and survival.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the film, Matthee cites the harrowing story of Alison Botha, who survived a brutal abduction and assault in 1994. “Her experience reflects profound internal effects of trauma that inspired me to write this screenplay,” he said.
A highly anticipated release, Wolf In Sheep's Clothing is set to premiere on 27 August 2026 on the Red Moon Performing Arts YouTube channel, promising to give voices to untold stories and connect with audiences through its raw emotional and societal truths.
