Families in Cape Town can look forward to a magical day on 21 March 2026, as CapeGate Shopping Centre warmly welcomes two of children’s television’s most cherished characters, Bluey and Bingo. The adored Blue Heeler siblings will make a special appearance at the Centre Court, inviting young fans to engage in a memorable Meet & Greet session.

This exciting family-friendly event is free to attend and will be organised in two separate sessions: the first runs from 10h00 to 12h00, and the second from 12h30 to 14h30. Parents are encouraged to bring their smartphones to capture precious moments, with dedicated assistants on standby to help ensure every smile is immortalised.

Since bursting onto screens, “Bluey” – created by Australian dad Joe Brumm and produced in Brisbane – has enchanted audiences with its heartwarming portrayal of family dynamics, imaginative play, and sincere humour. The show's realistic settings and the use of the production crew's own children’s voices for character dialogue have resonated with families across the globe. The six-year-old Bluey and her four-year-old sister Bingo have become household names, delighting children and parents alike. The 21st of March presents a unique opportunity for Cape Town families to meet these beloved characters in person.

“We know how much children love Bluey and Bingo, and we wanted to create a special free-to-attend experience that families could enjoy together,” said Zoë Enslin, Marketing Manager of CapeGate Shopping Centre. Her sentiments echo a growing trend among shopping centres to engage communities through family-oriented events.

To amplify the excitement further, CapeGate is hosting the “Find Bluey & Bingo Competition.” Visitors can participate for a chance to win a R500 Pep voucher and a R2000 CapeGate Gift Card. To enter, families can find details within the shopping centre or through CapeGate's social media platforms.

Families are advised to arrive early to secure their spot and minimize wait time, as queues are expected to be long. Bluey and Bingo will take short breaks throughout the event, including a full 30-minute pause at noon, ensuring everyone gets a chance to enjoy the experience with minimal disruption.

With the promise of unforgettable moments and the joy of interaction with beloved characters, the CapeGate Shopping Centre’s Meet & Greet is set to be an enchanting day for all. Mark your calendars and get ready to share laughter and fun with Bluey and Bingo!
