The InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town hotel, has officially opened the doors reinventing a cornerstone of luxury accommodation within the iconic V& A Waterfront. Originally inaugurated in 1997 by Nelson Mandela, the property has undergone an extensive multimillion-dollar redevelopment, ensuring it caters to the needs of the modern luxury traveller while honouring its rich heritage.
Nestled between the breathtaking silhouette of Table Mountain and the expansive Atlantic Ocean, this 306-room establishment continues the long-standing tradition of excellence associated with the historic Table Bay Hotel.
Joanne Selby, General Manager of InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town, expressed her enthusiasm about the reopening. “This marks a significant new chapter for an iconic address," she stated. "Cape Town’s true character has always been found beyond its scenery; it is a city defined by resilience and a unique ability to feel intimate within its own grandeur."
A new era in luxury travel
Reflecting a transformative approach to hospitality, the hotel is designed to provide an elevated luxury experience that marries freedom with familiarity. Inspired by the area's stunning landscapes, interior designer Gina Munro from LW Design Group has crafted spaces that open up to awe-inspiring views of Table Mountain. Each guest room— including 40 opulent suites— showcases contemporary designs enhanced by traditional materials, inviting guests to enjoy a connection to the heritage of this landmark.
