This December, as the year draws to a close, The Drama Factory invites audiences to indulge in a vibrant tapestry of music, comedy, and magic, all designed to lift spirits and create lasting memories. Founder Sue Diepeveen promises a line-up that caters to every taste, making it the perfect place to unwind and embrace the festive cheer.
“There’s something for everyone to move you into the holiday mood and provide a much-needed wind-down from a busy year,” Diepeveen expressed, tantalisingly revealing the highlights of this season’s programme.
Festive Season Highlights
The festive programme kicks off on 5 December with “Now That’s What I Call Music,” as celebrated musicians James Stewart and John Ellis take the stage. Known for their soulful interpretations, the duo will deliver a fresh twist on iconic tracks from the 80s, including hits by U2, The Police, and Cindi Lauper. Tickets priced at R230 offer a nostalgic trip through one of music’s most beloved decades.
Just a day later, on 6 December, audiences can join renowned South African storyteller and comedian Wicus van der Merwe, who promises a night filled with laughter and catchy tunes. The programme continues on 15 December with “De wals van de liefde,” featuring celebrated performer Jannie du Toit. He will take the audience on a journey through his personal favourites from the rich tapestry of Dutch music, accompanied by the talented Marcel and Deryn Dednam. For those seeking a mind-bending experience, Miles returns on 16 December with his show “Elemental,” which blends mentalism and magic in an interactive performance that challenges perceptions of free will. His engaging style promises to leave audiences questioning reality, with tickets priced at R200.
The fun continues with a nostalgic performance titled “Back to the 80s,” presented by The Morning After on 19 December, where iconic 80s hits will reignite the dance floor atmosphere. With ticket prices starting at R230, it’s an evening not to be missed.
On 20 December, audiences can expect an invigorating one-woman show by Lynita Crofford in “Stirred not shaken,” a play packed with humour and heartfelt reflections on life’s unexpected turns. Tickets cost R200, and critics are already singing praises for Crofford’s portrayal.
Finally, the festive series concludes on 21 December, when the musical duo Ferg ‘n Son takes the stage for a memorable concert, blending genres to bring joy to their audience.
