This winter school holiday, families in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town can embrace the chill in the most exhilarating way – on ice! From 27 June to 21 July, the beloved  Ice Rink returns, promising a vibrant escape from the winter blues. This year, the rink takes on a bold new makeover, glowing with an electrifying neon theme that has already got residents buzzing with excitement.

Located under the Covered Parking at Entrance 6 of the Cape Gate Shopping Centre, the CG Ice Rink is operational daily from 10:00 to 19:00, with an early closure on Sundays. It invites little skaters aged 3 to 13 – along with their parents – to glide, spin, and share laughter through 50-minute skating sessions, making chilly days a highlight of the holiday.

Zoë Enslin, Marketing Manager at Capegate Shopping Centre said the Ice Rink has become a firm favourite for families during the school breaks. "This year, we wanted to do something a little unexpected," she said.

"The neon theme brings a playful, electric energy to the experience. It's where wobbly first steps turn into shared laughs and unforgettable family moments."

With bright lights, upbeat music and the buzz of school holiday excitement, the neon rink is quickly shaping up to be this Winter’s local highlight.
