Marking its impressive 15th anniversary, the Carnival promises to be a dazzling celebration of creativity, culture, and the performing arts, welcoming thousands of spectators to witness an event that has grown exponentially since its inception.
This year’s celebration is set to feature an exciting array of headline performers, including local rap sensation YoungstaCPT, master DJ Ready D, musical powerhouse Bravo Le Roux, the talented Paxton Fielies, and the harmonious SA Youth Choir. Additionally, festival-goers will be thrilled by appearances from the DHL Stormers, the Drag Cartel, and Rio’s Carnival’s Queen of the Drums, Erika Januza, who will grace the stage, adding to the Carnival’s electric atmosphere.

Approximately 1,500 performers will take part in the festivities, presenting a vibrant parade that is expected to attract around 30,000 attendees to Green Point Main Road and Somerset Road over a spectacular three-hour event. “It really has been incredible to witness the Cape Town Carnival’s growth from an event with just over 11,000 spectators on Long Street in 2010 to a fully-fledged festival attracting around 30,000 people,” stated Alderman JP Smith, the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security. “Over the last 15 years, the carnival has become an unmissable, family-friendly event celebrating our country’s diversity and creativity while promoting a sense of community.”
