Winner’s pictures way more than hot air

Published

Congratulations to Gerald Poswell of Newlands for his pictures of hot air balloons floating above Cappadocia, Turkey.

He enjoyed views of the unusual landscape of this historical region in central Anatolia in a hot air balloon.

“Taking off at dawn, we took a trip in one of the 50 hot air balloons.

“Silently drifting over the amazing geological formations of Cappadocia was an experience of a lifetime and truly awesome.”

Poswell wins a weekend night stay at Island Club Hotel & Apartments in Century City.

The runners-up are Pam Knipe, of Wynberg, for her pictures of the Jurassic Coast of Dorset, England and Jenny MacDonald, of Milnerton, for her pictures of Cape Town’s graffiti.

Knipe was on a walking holiday in Dorset which included the Durdle Door on the Jurassic Coast.

“We walked along the coast between Weymouth and Swanage.”

MacDonald and two friends decided to be tourists for the day in their own city.

“We came across this stunning mural on a wall in a side street, near to Charly’s Bakery.”
