South Africa dominates Dance World Cup 2025 with 62 medals and multiple world champions

In an outstanding display of talent and artistry, South Africa triumphed at the Dance World Cup 2025 held in Burgos, Spain, securing a remarkable total of 62 medals—22 gold, 21 silver, and 19 bronze. This exceptional achievement not only highlights the country's vibrant dance scene but also sees South Africa crowned as World Champions in both the Street Dance and Commercial categories.

One of the key contributors to South Africa's stellar performance was K&J Dance Unlimited from Cape Town. This dynamic dance group made waves on the international stage, bringing home an impressive haul of two special awards, along with two gold medals, two silver medals, and five bronze medals. Their success was underpinned by the sheer excellence of their routines, with a staggering 21 of them placing in the Top 6 globally—10 of these being team routines and 11 solo or duo performances.

Among the standout performances, K&J Dance Unlimited clinched gold medals for their innovative routines, 'Da-Future' (performed by the Senior Commercial Large Group) and 'Supreme' (delivered by the Senior Commercial Small Group). The silver medals were awarded to "Ultimate," the Junior Commercial Large Group, and a remarkable performance by Ella Rodinis in the Children Commercial Solo category.

Bronze medals followed for a series of captivating performances such as "Solidity" by the Senior Street Dance Small Group, and various duet and solo routines including Claudia House & Kiera Bryan (Senior Lyrical Duet) and Kaitlin Hardenberg & Cadince Willenberg (Junior Commercial Duet). Ella Rodinis & Danika Nel and Kiera Bryan rounded off the trio of bronze-winning duets with their respective Children Commercial Duet and Senior Lyrical Solo performances.

K&J Dance Unlimited also celebrated additional Top 6 placements, which included:

  • 4th Place: "Validity" (Junior Commercial Small Group), Claudia House (Senior Lyrical Solo), Tamica Simon (Children Commercial Solo), and Peyton Connor (Junior Commercial Solo).
  • 5th Place: "Copius" (Junior Commercial Small Group), "Exonerate" (Junior Contemporary Small Group), Emily Muller (Senior Contemporary Solo), and Mia Craul (Children Commercial Solo).
  • 6th Place: "Cosmic" (Children Commercial Small Group), "Effeminacy" (Senior Commercial Small Group), "Hi Ren" (Senior Showstopper Small Group), and Jami Fredericks (Junior Commercial Solo).
