A couple were left astonished when they arrived at an all-inclusive five-star resort in Mexico to discover they were the only guests there, only to find it wasn’t quite as incredible as it first seemed.

The idea of spending a holiday with your partner in a luxurious resort, being waited on hand and foot, may sound like a dream come true.

Escaping daily life in search of sun, peace, and quiet can be ideal—until you arrive at a resort teeming with people, requiring an early start to secure a sunbed and navigating crowded buffet lunches.

However, one couple had none of these troubles upon arriving at the Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos in Mexico, where they found themselves to be the only guests.

Yet, this unique situation wasn’t as perfect as it initially appeared.

A TikToker named Cameron, who uses the handle @freedomhustle, shared his experience of the deserted sun loungers, empty pool, and vacant outdoor areas at the hotel on social media.

In his video, Cameron explained: "At first, it started as a joke… but it feels more like an episode from Black Mirror."

Although he could have been enjoying his time on a sun lounger with a cocktail in hand, Cameron's curiosity led him to explore the resort in search of other guests. His efforts, however, were fruitless.

"Every time I think I see someone that’s not wearing a white uniform, I get excited, only to realise, no, just more contractors working on the place. Which, again, was kind of cool, until it wasn’t," Cameron said.

After realising that he and his wife were the only guests at the all-inclusive resort, Cameron began questioning the financial logistics of maintaining the resort.

"How is this place paying for all these lights?" he pondered in one part of the video. "How are these fire pits being lit all day, all night for us? Who is paying for all this? This entire kingdom is just for us."

One viewer advised Cameron to simply enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and not stress over financial matters.

Following the viral success of his videos, the resort’s media spokesperson, Melissa Wisenbaker, commented: "Velas Resorts operate at 100 percent regardless of the number of actual guests staying on property." She further noted, "There is a staff to guest ratio of 3 to 1, unlike many other resorts which have the opposite ratio (3 guests to every 1 staff)."
