FIFTEEN Rand may get you a loaf of bread if it's on special and if you are lucky, almost R20 million.
That's what R15 got one Quick Pick Powerball jackpot winner on Friday night - R19 927 387.
The winner purchased the ticket on a banking app, the National Lottery Ithuba said in a statement on Monday.
"This remarkable win makes them the ninth multi-million jackpot winner across all National Lottery games," said Ithuba in a statement.
Ithuba said since January 1, 2025, the National Lottery had paid out a total of R474 326 842, nearly half a billion, in winnings to 13 050 483 lucky players nationwide.
The biggest winner of the year so far won the R102 million PowerBall jackpot on January 24 this year.
Charmaine Mabuza, the Ithuba CEO, said: "We are delighted to celebrate yet another PowerBall jackpot winner so early in the year. Indeed we are overjoyed to see so many lives transformed through the National Lottery."
Ithuba said winners, who bought their tickets via a banking app, were notified of their winnings by their bank, and they have to visit their nearest National Lottery Operator’s office.
Winnings are paid out within 72 hours of a valid claim.
