A 71-year-old Phoenix woman is recovering in hospital after a house robber attempted to strangle her.
Viky Januk, an Advanced Life Support paramedic for Accimed Response, said they were called to the home in Lenham and found the woman bleeding from an injury to her neck.
“It is believed that while the woman was in her yard, a person or persons had jumped over the fence. She was approached from the back and an object was used in an attempt to strangle her, causing her to become unconscious. When the woman regained consciousness, she managed to crawl into her home and press the panic button alerting her security company.
“All relevant authorities arrived at the scene. We attended to the woman who was bleeding from the injury to her neck. We stabilised the woman before transporting her to the hospital. Her home was ransacked. Her cellphone and other valuables were taken,” he said.
