On Saturday, July 13, the New Apostolic Church celebrated the DOTC (Day of The Child) services and fun day for the Sunday school children from the Joburg south and Kathorus areas.

The day began with a Divine Service held by the Apostle Mkwananzi of which 192 children were in attendance as well as their parents, Sunday school teachers and co-ordinators and culminated in a day of fun and games as well as food for everyone in attendance.

At the end of the day, the children all received a blanket each which was sponsored by Independent Newspapers on behalf of Nelson Mandela Day 2024. The children were all thankful and excited.

On Sunday, July 14, the New Apostolic Church congregations of Towerby, South Hills, Alberton and Mayberry Park handed over blankets to their senior members consisting of ages ranging from 65 to 93 (being the oldest member). This was also sponsored by Independent Newspapers on behalf of the Nelson Mandela Day 2024 initiative.

The senior members were all smiles and thankful for this special gift in remembrance of Mandela, who worked so hard for the freedom they experience today.

The New Apostolic Church thanked Independent Newspapers for this initiative and said it appreciated the opportunity to be part of the Nelson Mandela 2024 Day.
