Penn Badgley commemorated wrapping up the final season of “You” with a viral TikTok trend.

The “Gossip Girl” star plays Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager and serial killer, who develops an extreme and deadly obsession with his love interests in the psychological thriller.

The hit Netflix series, based on the books by Caroline Kepnes, has earned widespread acclaim since the first season debuted in September 2018.

The 37-year-old has now joined the likes of Jenna Ortega, Jennifer Lopez and the US’s White House by recreating the trend which was brought to life by content creator Jools Lebron.

Her instructional TikTok video in which she explains how to show up to work in a “respectful” and “modest” manner, has since exploded in popularity.

As the globe, including prominent personalities, continues to get hooked onto the trend, Badgley mimicked it as he announced that filming for “You” had finally come to an end.

“See how I show up to work? Very demure, very mindful,” Badgley begins in the video which has since been shared by Netflix US’s official account.

“I don’t really do too much when I’m at work. I’m very mindful. Playing a romantic icon for five seasons, I’m very modest, I’m very mindful,” he added as a still of his character screaming in a glass cage pops up.

This is where his character notoriously keeps his victims.

“You see my shirt? Showing the shoulders, not the boulders,” he added as he concluded the video.

This was in a bid to copy Lebron as in her video, she states: “You see my shirt? Only a little chi-chi out, not my cho-cho.”

Badgley is also seen in the video walking through the streets of New York City, a significant element of the show as this was where the very first season was shot and where Joe’s obsessive story began.

Filming for “You” season five began in March last year, but an official release date has not yet been announced.

It is, however, set to come full circle as Joe is expected to return to the Big Apple with his new British partner Kate, played by Charlotte Ritchie.

He may also finally face justice for his long list of heinous crimes but with the rich widow by his side, Joe is set to have the protection that money allows.

Meanwhile, Anna Camp, Griffin Matthews and Madeline Brewer are all set to round off the cast for the final season

Other places where Joe’s deadly antics played out include Los Angeles for season two, and San Francisco for season three. The show’s previous offering, which was set in London and split into two parts, premiered on Netflix in 2023.
