Gird your loins because a South African adaptation of the popular US dating show, “Dating #NoFilter” is coming to E! Africa (DStv channel 124).
According to the channel, NBCUniversal International Networks and DTC are currently working on the local version, which is set to feature 15 comedians and famous faces.
The unscripted and candid comedy dating series is currently being filmed in Johannesburg and will be produced by Brainstorm Entertainment.
Viewers will get a hilariously unfiltered look at the joys and heartbreaks of modern dating, while the outspoken comedians hold nothing back, offering hysterically funny opinions on every awkward interaction and heart-warming moment as the singles strive to find love.
Among the 15 comedic cast are comedians and actors Nina Hastie and Jason Goliath actress and radio personality Hope Mhbele, and media personality and content creator, Lebogang Tlokana, who is also known as “The Funny Chef”.
Carpo More, Jo-Anne Reyneke, Margo Fargo, Okay Wasabi, Robby Collins, Rosette Ncwana, Sentle Andile, Skits by Sphe, Skyf Your Loss, Tumi the Narrator and Zille Wizzy make up the rest of the cast.
Hendrik McDermott, managing director, Hayu, EMEA Networks & International Direct-To-Consumer, NBCUniversal said: “Building on the success of E! Africa’s local adaptation of Celebrity Game Night, this production underscores our focus on delivering content that resonates with African viewers – in this case, uniquely showcasing some of South Africa’s wittiest personalities,” said McDermott.
Ana Langenberg, SVP Format Sales and Production, NBCUniversal Formats added that the show is a “brilliant format with international appeal”.

Hastie took to Instagram to share the news.
She wrote: “Smol announcement: I’ve joined the cast of the South African edition of comedy hit show Dating #NoFilter, Premièring later this year on E! Africa.
“I’ll be joined by 14 other comedians & famous faces to bring you unfiltered commentary on blind dates. I mean. It’s what I do! Dating #NoFilter is filmed right here in South Africa.”
