GREAT R&B music never stops. From the looks of it, 2024 is another year full of memorable performances from some of the biggest artists in the industry.

Landing in South Africa soon to serenade R&B music lovers is American singer-songwriter Keyshia Cole, who will be touring the country from September 26 until September 28.

James Blunt will also be in the country from September 12 until September 14 to give fans a live performance of his recent album, “Who We Used To Be”.

In recent months, Mzansi music fans were also treated to iconic performances from Tamia, Boyz II Men, Freddie Jackson and Jeffrey Osborne, just to name a few.

Concert tours have proven that they serve not only as an opportunity for artists to promote their latest albums or highlight their entire music catalogues but they also enable fans to celebrate their favourite performers, all together under the same roof.

Joining the bandwagon to give South African R&B lovers great vibes, memories and music, is the legendary group, Blackstreet, who will make their debut in October.

Known for their Grammy-winning number-one pop hit “No Diggity”, this will be the group’s first “Magic Music Sessions” SA tour.

Blackstreet was a popular and influential R&B vocal group that made a significant impact on the music scene in the ’90s.

The group was founded by the legendary musician Teddy Riley, who was a pioneer of the new jack swing style of music, and Chauncey Hannibal.

With a series of platinum-selling hits and a string of successful albums, Blackstreet became one of the most beloved and respected R&B groups of its time.

The group has worked with a variety of producers, most notably Dr Dre, who produced four tracks on their second album, “Another Level”. They have also collaborated with other artists such as Queen Pen, Mya and Foxy Brown.

With a series of platinum-selling albums and a string of hit singles, the group was one of the most beloved and influential of its era. Though its commercial success has slowed in recent years, its legacy remains secure, and its music continues to inspire and thrill fans around the world.

Commenting on Blackstreet’s tour, Vertex Events’ executive director, Thato Segaole, said they were proud, eager and ready to host the icons.

“We are proudly bringing yet another amazing performing act for South Africans to enjoy. We have always set an impeccable tone and standard with our productions, and this tour will be no different.

“The team is eager and ready to execute unforgettable shows at all mentioned venues,” said Segaole.
