DJ Fresh is set to make a return to the airwaves next year.

The veteran broadcaster, whose real name is Thato Sikwane, has been off-air for nearly four years after being axed by 947 and Metro FM.

But the radio personality recently told news publication “Zimoja” that he will be returning to radio in April 2025.

“I will be back in April; I can’t say where yet. I’m a radio-head through and through,” he was quoted as saying.

He added that he will be working on either a drive-time or a breakfast show.

Meanwhile, the radio personality launched his podcast called “WAW! What a Week” in February 2023.

In 2021, he was axed from 947’s “Drive Time” show alongside DJ Euphonik, whose real name is Themba Nkosi, following allegations of sexual assault. However, the pair won the court battle.

DJ Fresh was also dismissed from Metro FM in 2019 after using the word “Msun**y” on air.

“I don’t think I was fired for the word. I was fired because I refused to apologise for using the word. I was suspended for a month,” he said at the time.

He added to “Zimoja”: “The BCCSA said there was no transgression because the word doesn’t exist. Had they said apologise immediately, I would’ve done that, but you punish me first, and I must come back and say I’m sorry.”

The renowned media personality has also worked for 5FM and YFM. He also featured on television shows such as “Idols SA”, “SA’s Got Talent” and “Tropika Island of Treasure SA”.
