Carletheia announced as the supporting act for PJ Morton’s ‘Cape Town To Cairo Tour’

Emerging Cape Town singer Carletheia has been confirmed as the opening act for Grammy-award-winning American musician and songwriter, PJ Morton, on his upcoming South African tour.

The “Home Again” singer announced his “Cape Town To Cairo Tour” earlier this year, with concerts in Cape Town on September 6, Durban on September 7 and Johannesburg on September 8.

Emerging soul singer, Carletheia is set to complement Morton as the opening performer for the Cape Town leg of his tour.

Carletheia shared: “I am beyond ecstatic and truly blessed to have the opportunity to open up for PJ Morton. It's rare to get a chance to open for an international artist, let alone a multi-Grammy award-winning one. I don’t take this opportunity lightly.”

She is looking forward to her moment in the spotlight where she will get the opportunity to interaction with audiences, live.

“I'm excited to perform for an incredible audience and PJ's fans never let me down. I hope to deliver an energetic and meaningful performance and make it a memorable experience,” she added.

Carletheia and Morton are no strangers, the two share the same manager, Wade Jordan, and Morton has written Carletheia’s latest single, “I’ll Always Be There”, which is currently enjoy success on airwaves across the country.

Jordan revealed that the reason he and Morton selected Carletheia as the opening act was because of her amazing vocal talent, work ethic and passion for her building her career.

"Most would assume because I manage both PJ Morton and Carletheia that she would automatically be a part of the show. Did that play a part? Sure. But PJ and I are very selective with the artists that take part in his shows.

“We first experienced Carletheia live at The Wave Theatre in January, and she blew us away. Over the course of the past few months, I've gotten the opportunity to witness the amazing person she is, her work ethic, and her passion for building an impactful career that would make South Africans proud,” shared Jordan.

The Cape Town leg of the “Cape Town To Cairo Tour” will take place on September 6 at the Concert Hall, Baxter Theatre Centre. Doors open at 6.30pm.

Morton will then head to Durban for a performance at the iZulu Theatre, Sibaya Casino on September 7, followed by his Johannesburg show on September 8 at the Mushroom Farm Park in Sandton, where singer, Wandile Mbambeni will warm up the stage for Morton.
