Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi is confident his side will clinch the MTN 8 title as Masandawana, prepare to face Stellenbosch FC in the first leg of the semi-finals on Wednesday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Mngqithi won the MTN 8 title in 2009 as the head coach of Lamontville Golden Arrows after defeating Ajax Cape Town 6-0 in one of the most memorable finals in South African football history.
Given his track record in the competition, the Sundowns coach is confident that his team will win the MTN8 title, now valued at R10 million.

“It is a big one and what I said last ... I think I was the first one to win the MTN 8.
“And I think, again, we are also going to be the first ones to win the MTN 8 with a prize money of R10 million,” Mngqithi said.
Mngqithi added that the club’s new signings have also settled well and will be available for selection on Wednesday.
“Almost all the new signings have shown good mentality and have integrated well into the group and are all looking really good.
“Other maybe registrations are pending but the truth is almost everyone we have now has a chance to play on Wednesday and we are hopeful that they will be able to help us,” Mngqithi added.
The Sundowns coach also backed his side also to claim the CAF Champions League this season.
