Johannesburg – The South African Football Association (Safa) have suspended Vice-President Mwelo Nonkonyana with immediate effect for comments he made regarding Gordon Igesund’s job as Bafana Bafana coach.

Nonkonyana said Igesund should resign from his post if he failed to, at least, reach the final of the of the African Nations Championship (Chan) next year.

The comment outraged Igesund, who returned from Morocco with the national team this week.

Nonkonyana will appear before a disciplinary committee to answer for his actions. – IOL
