Durban – The body of Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa arrived at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday just before noon, accompanied by a police brass band.

The thousands in the stadium rose to their feet as a sign of respect to the goalkeeper whose body arrived in a white Audi Q7. The roar of vuvuzelas filled the stadium.

A convoy of the white 4x4s, preceded by bikers, entered the stadium around 11:20am.

As the cars went by, silence fell in the stadium with some fans crying.

The car carrying his casket drove around the stadium. Sounds of vuvuzelas followed at each section it passed. – Sapa
