The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Gauteng welcomes the appointment of Obakeng Ramabodu and Oratilwe Blessing Mashabela to the Mayoral Committee in the City of Tshwane.
This announcement was made by Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya on Sunday, revealing a mayoral committee composed of 10 councillors from various political parties, including the African National Congress (ANC), EFF, GOOD party, and ActionSA.
Ramabodu, the regional chairperson of the EFF in Tshwane, will assume the role of Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Environmental and Agricultural Management. Meanwhile, Mashabela, the regional secretary, will serve as MMC for Health.
In response to the appointments, the EFF in Gauteng expressed its appreciation for the establishment of a government that includes a diverse range of political formations.
The party emphasised the need for “genuine political maturity and collaborative efforts to ensure quality service delivery and stability in the city”.
“This appointment marks a significant milestone for the EFF,” said Dumisani Baleni, spokesperson for the EFF in Gauteng.
“It represents our involvement in all three metros in Gauteng, reinforcing our pivotal role in the formation of local government across the province and the country.”
The EFF is committed to honouring this responsibility with humility and dedication. The party recognises that it is the people of Tshwane who have entrusted them with their votes and political mandate.
“We understand that our role in governance, both legislatively and in the executive is to ensure that the interests of our people are represented at all times,” Baleni said.
The EFF has expressed complete trust and confidence in the newly appointed leaders, believing in their ability to fulfil their respective duties, both individually and collectively.
The party remains dedicated to ensuring that all residents of Tshwane, from diverse backgrounds, are represented in their government and treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
