Fountain Valley, California - Each year Hyundai produces a seriously hot modified car for the Speciality Equipment Manufacturers Association show in Las Vegas - and this year it has teamed up with Blood Type Racing - a Chicago-based builder specialising in extracting extreme, street-friendly performance from Korean cars, to build a one-of a kind Genesis street racer.

The BTR Genesis Coupé will be revealed at Hyundai's SEMA news conference in Las Vegas on 4 November - but meanwhile, here's what went into this fast and furious street car.

The engine is based on the car's original two-litre turbopetrol four; bored out to take bigger sleeves, with strengthened and fully balanced internal components, high-boost Precision Turbo turbocharger, a custom intake, intercooler, full exhaust kit and nitrous injection, it sends nearly 750kW at the crank (more than 600kW at the rear wheels!) through a six-speed manual 'box.

Blood Type Racing product manager Sam Lee said: "It's easy to extract lots of power from an engine, but we also engineered the other aspects of the car - cornering, handling, stopping and styling, to match the impressive power we're now getting from the engine. It's a true total package."

That includes Stance Suspension dampers, springs and suspension cups, Whiteline anti-roll bars with Enthuspec adjustable links and rigid sub-frame collar kit, strut tower and body braces, a Wilwood Performance brake kit, Work Wheels 19" custom two-piece rims and Toyo R888 tyres.

Tanabe LED Revel gauges, Sabelt racing seats and harnesses, a Sabelt steering wheel and Cusco roll cage complete the interior.
