Everyone knows that getting married is beautiful, however, the financial side of the wedding preparations may be kind of daunting.

Many couples take years to save up for their special day, while some end up taking loans from the bank to make their wedding dreams come true. And in most cases, one may end up paying the bank loan for almost all their life.

For South Korean citizens, the financial stress of the wedding preparations seems to have been scrapped as the government has introduced a new policy to encourage singles to tie the knot.

According to an article by ‘South China Morning Post’, the fertility crisis in South Korea has dropped to 0.75% per woman, which has led to the local government resorting to desperate measures to encourage people to get married and be offered money.

The birth rate in South Korea has the lowest birth rate in the world, which has led to a demographic crisis.

As a result of the country’s demographic crisis, a new policy has been passed to pay people at least R670,000 to find a husband or a wife.

It is quite clear that the country's birth rate has reached a critical point and the government of South Korea has introduced this cash incentive to try and get people to get married.

This is a win-win concept for the country as well as the singles. The demographic crisis will hopefully get fixed and for the new couple, the financial stress is easily relieved.
