Annikie Rabohlale, who hails from Pretoria, made South Africa proud after she was crowned as first runner-up at the Mrs Earth International beauty pageant in Manila, the Philippines.

The finale took place on December 9, at SMX Convention Centre in Manila, with Rabohlale walking away with three out of the pageant's seven awards, as well as the first runner-up title.

The 25-year-old model was awarded with the following: Best in Eco Tourism Video, Best in Preliminary Interview, and Best in Production Dress.

She went on to also win the title of Lady of the Earth International Tourism.

With excitement, the model thanked her family and friends for supporting her in her beauty pageantry journey.

“I feel so overwhelmed and grateful to the Almighty God for the gift of life and for everything that is happening in my life. I am grateful to my loved ones, my family and friends for the support they have showered me with," she said.

“I am pushing nine years now in pageantry, in its entirety because I am a judge, host and coach and I am a pageant title holder. Becoming the first runner-up of Lady of the Earth in International Tourism to me means so so much.”

The Mrs Earth International beauty pageant celebrates empowered women who advocate for children's welfare and protect the earth, and focus on sustainability, community impact and a legacy of positive change.

Rabohlale also added that she is excited for her future endeavours as the first runner-up.

“I am excited about venturing into sustainable fashion, sustainable measures to save the planet because that is actually something that intrigues my mind now. How to come up with new innovations, invent new precautionary measures around the sensitivity of our planet,” she said.
