Eva Longoria worried her pregnancy would make people think she was a "terrible" director.

The 42-year-old actress is expecting a baby with husband Jose 'Pepe' Baston and she admitted she struggled with her first trimester carrying her "beautiful surprise", which coincided with her working behind the camera on Fox's comedy 'The Mick'.

She recalled: "I was so nauseous and tired.

"I thought they're going to think I'm a terrible director because I'm just sleeping all the time! Every chance I got I took a nap!"

Though Eva and her husband know they're expecting a baby boy, they still haven't chosen a name for their impending new arrival, but once she's finished work on 'Grand Hotel', a pilot that was recently picked up by ABC, she'll be making her family her "focus".

She told Us Weekly magazine: "Once I finish this pilot, I'll be able to focus on getting ready for my little boy."

The former 'Desperate Housewives' star has had a very busy few months with her career and is very proud of her eponymous HSN clothing line, which will be available next month.

She said: "I love speaking to the clothes. I love telling people, 'You know, this dress will make you look thinner. The will give an illusion of a waist."

And when it comes for her own pregnancy style, Eva has opted for comfort.

She said: "I'm into stretchy clothes!"

Although the baby will the star's first child, Mexican businessman José has kids from his marriage to ex-wife Natalia Esperon.

Eva has admitted her maternal instincts kicked in from being a stepmother to José's children Natalia, 21, and 13-year-old twins Mariana and Jose

She previously said: "I am a stepmom to three amazing kids, and I've had my hands full, and they are amazing and wonderful ... It's been a lot of fun, a lot of fun being a stepmom."
