Women typically host baby showers because they carry the pregnancy but local actor Sicelo Buthelezi and his partner Ms Maru decided to do something different.

Instead of the mother-to-be being the centre of attention, all eyes were on Buthelezi as the father-to-be.

His friends and family hosted a baby shower to celebrate his journey into fatherhood.

They created a fun video on TikTok, where guests moved in a line, stating their relationship with the baby's father until the final reveal.

According to “OkMzansi”, Buthelezi is extremely excited for this new chapter and is committed to being a great father and a loving husband, as he plans to marry his partner.

He is not the first South African male celebrity to become a father.

Recently, we've seen the likes of Shane Eagle, Nasty C, A-Reece and Blxckie announce that they are expecting children with their partners.

“I had such a beautiful, peaceful journey. Thank you to all my secret keepers. I'm blessed beyond words and will forever be grateful to my friends, family, and my man for their support and love during this journey.

“Pookie bear chose me to be her mummy, and I’ll cherish that forever! I am blessed and highly favoured. Thank you for all the congratulations,” wrote Hermosa Lit, Blxckie’s girlfriend, who recently gave birth.

In other news, Simphiwe Ngema also announced that she and Tino Chinyani are expecting their second child.
