Tanya van Graan has looks that turn heads and legs that stop traffic.

It's not surprising when you Google her to discover that she is one of the country's top bikini girls and has done well in the modelling scene locally.

Hailing from Mpumalanga, where her parents own a game farm, Tanya knew from very early on that she wanted to be an actress.

She can currently be seen in M-Net's Snitch 2 as the Bulgarian trophy wife of the scheming villain of the piece, Hilton (Norman Anstey).

"There's much there that is still hidden," she says of her character, but what she doesn't say is that her tango partner on the series, Emmanuel Castis (who played Steve in Isidingo) is also the lucky man of the moment in this beautiful woman's life.

Tanya's had fun doing the series in a role that has given her a lot of maturity on screen.

And she feels fortunate that her first steaming love scene on screen was with Justin Strydom, who was a lecturer of hers when studying.

"He's more an actor than a lecturer, but I felt safe after the initial discomfort," she says. But she feels honoured to have scored this part, which has certainly propelled her into another league.

Featured in the title role of Debbie Benton in Debbie Does Dallas, Tanya plays the young and innocent all-American girl whose teenage hormones are on overdrive.

Accents are not a problem as she has proved on Snitch, and Tanya says her proficiency has much to do with all the foreigners visiting their game farm when she was growing up.

Tanya giggles when talking about the musical and says it is all huge fun.

"It can't be taken too seriously as it's all tongue in cheek," she says.

In fact, if nudity is what you're after, this is not it. It's a spoof on porn, not exactly porn.

Tanya, who comes from an Afrikaans background, studied musical theatre at the Tshwane University of Technology and even though she is only at the start of her career, there is a quiet confidence about her future.

She arrives at the press meeting dressed in stylish shorts and a slinky top, as if to say, this one was made for Debbie Does Dallas and yet, if you switch to Snitch on Thursdays at 8.30pm, you'll get a good dose of her acting skills.

As one of the backup singers for Afrikaans singer Bok van Blerk (who has had a huge hit with the rather emotional song, De la Rey) she boasts a good voice as well.

Watch out for Tanya, she is heading straight for the top and has both beauty and brains to pave the way.
