Global Citizen announced on Tuesday morning that the first action to earn points that could secure yourself a free ticket has opened.

All you need to do to become eligible to win a free ticket to the Mandela 100 tribute concert —headlined by Beyoncé & Jay-Z, Cassper Nyovest, D'banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Kacey Musgraves, Tiwa Savage, Usher, and Wizkid — is start taking action.

Starting on Tuesday, people can take action on GlobalCitizen.org.za, in the Global Citizen app, or you can find them on Facebook Messenger.

Once you have earned enough points by taking action, you can enter into a drawing to win free tickets. Eligible winners will be chosen at random and every winner will get two free tickets.

How to take action

Actions take a few different shapes and happen in different places.

1.) You can take action on the Global Citizen website and in our mobile app. These actions can be things like sending tweets, signing petitions, or sending an email to express your support for a particular issue, like more funding for girls education, or making sure more people have access to clean drinking water.

2.) Facebook Messenger: For the first time ever, Global Citizens can take action using a Facebook Messenger bot; these actions are similar to the ones on our site but are designed for phones with Facebook Messenger Lite. Just search "Global Citizen" in Facebook Messenger.

3.) Days of Action: In the coming months, there will be select opportunities to earn tickets through offline actions and community service. Keep a lookout for more information on our channels soon.
