Grammy Award winning artist Kaytranada, real name Louis Kevin Celestin, is set to headline the first-ever “Milk and Cookies Festival South Africa” in Joburg on Saturday, January 11.

This comes after the Canadian music producer and rapper set the stage alight at the Cape Town leg of the event on Sunday, January 5.

Also known as Kayta, he will be joined in Jozi by a star-studded line-up of local artists such as Kitty Cash, Mörda, Desiree, Muzi, Shamiso, 2Shoes, Mamthug and Yolophonik.

The “Milk and Cookies Festival” is part of the inaugural Milk and Cookies Music Week South Africa, which kicked off in the Mother City on New Year’s Eve.

The gathering also included yacht parties, cultural experiences and exclusive fashion pop-ups led by top local designers.

The 11-day cultural celebration also featured concerts, immersive experiences, artist and development programs.

Meanwhile, Kaytranada has earned legions of fans across the globe for his unique fusion of house, funk and soul. He is acclaimed for hits like “Intimidated”, featuring H.E.R, as well as “10%” and “What You Need.”

Kaytranada broke into the music scene back in 2010 after releasing a series of mixtapes, remixes and original music projects under the alias Kaytradamus.

By 2013, and under the moniker Kaytranada, he began gaining wider recognition and, the following year, signed a deal with XL Recordings, with whom he would release his critically acclaimed debut studio album 99.9% in 2016.

Three years later, he dropped “Bubba”, for which he won two Grammy Awards including Best Dance/Electronic Album.
