- Visit the photographic exhibition by Basil Koufos, which opened last Wednesday at the Voir Art Gallery (shop 52, first floor Brooklyn Square) and runs until this Wednesday. The exhibition is of the work submitted by Koufos for his M Tech Degree in Photography at the Tshwane University of Technology.

- Laughter is the best medicine for January woes. See performances by some of the country's popular stand-up comedians on Thursday at Razoos (Morula Casino and Hotel, Mabopane). Roni Modimola (pictured) of Pure Monate, Judy Jake, and Tumi Morake are in the business of making you laugh and it's for mahala, so don't miss it. The comedy shows take place every Thursday at Razoos and shows start at 8.30pm. On Friday night you can watch the PSL soccer on the big screen, also at Razoos. No cover charge. Tel: 012-799-0000.

- Friday and Saturday nights at Lethabong (Morula Casino and Hotel, Mabopane) are music nights. On Friday you can catch Afro %, a live Afro-pop band. On Saturday night enjoy the sounds of Afro-jazz pop band, Chromatics. Both shows start at 7.30pm and entrance is free. Tel: 012-799-0000.

- On Thursday and Friday you can watch Frank Opperman in the comedy production, Die Uwe … Pottie Potgieter, at the Performer theatre (corner Thomas Edison & 13th Avenue, Menlo Park, Greenlyn Village Centre). The show starts at 8pm. Tel: 012-346-0801.

- Miller Quiz Night starts again on Friday at Dacqs (shop no 2, Menlyn Piazza, corner Lois and Glen Manor streets). The quiz night is popular with patrons and has been going for two years. Each table is given a quiz and there is a quiz master. The winning table gets R1 000. Tel: 012-365-2290.
