On the recent episode of “Fake Gobela”, one of Moja love’s reality shows, Letoya Makhene got exposed as an alleged bogus healer.
“Fake Gobela” is a reality show that aims to expose traditional doctors who are either fake or those who do not do fulfill their promises made to the people they help.
One of Makhene’s ex initiates, by the name of Kabelo Mpongo went to the show to get help after not getting any help from Makhene.
The popular South African actress and singer, is also a traditional doctor. Makhene is well known for her role as Tshidi on Generations: The Legacy.
It is alleged that the 39-year-old actress did not perform her duties as a traditional doctor. Mpongo claims that the two weeks he spent at Makhene’s initiation school did not help him in any way to become a traditional healer and he wants his R2,800 back that he paid in order to get help.
Makhene is understood to charge initiates R10,000 for initiations, but Mpongo could only afford R2,800. He paid R1,300 to get in the programme and another R1,500 for traditional activities that were needed at the time.
Makhene denied scamming Mpongo, explaining that in two weeks, initiates cannot get any sort of teachings because being a traditional healer needs more time.
X users came to the defence of Makhene with some saying that they think Mpongo was sent by Makhene’s ex, Lebo Keswa, to try and ruin her reputation after their messy split earlier this year in June.

Another X user, @MabhekeshN commented, “Latoya’s name was dragged just for fame, this guy is stupid, he can’t pay deposit to thwasa and demand a refund. Lebo is still abusing Letoya via amathwasa. I feel sad for Latoya. She fell in love with a wrong woman.”

Makhene and Keswa’s split got very messy and they both went to certain lengths to try and ruin each others reputation’s by insulting each other online and throwing accusations.
Makhene has refused to pay the money back, saying Mpongo knew where to find her.
