Set for 260-episodes, “Genesis” will explore the intricate and often tumultuous world of the gospel music industry.

According to the channel, the telenovela will “reshape what you thought you knew about the gospel music industry narrative”.

“‘Genesis’ delves into the high-stakes world of gospel music where loyalty is tested and betrayal lurks around every corner,” read the statement.

At the heart of “Genesis” is Felicia Thabethe, a character who once reigned supreme as the queen of gospel music.

With aspirations of building a substantial legacy alongside her husband, Gabriel, Felicia’s world is turned upside down when a series of shocking secrets come to light.

These revelations not only threaten the stability of Genesis Records, but they also put Felicia’s cherished family name in jeopardy.

As the stakes rise, viewers will be left questioning whether Felicia will prevail against the odds or will the fallout from betrayal cost her everything she holds dear?

Shirley Adonisi, director of Local Entertainment Channels for M-Net, shared: “It’s all about family, power struggles, love, faith, all set in the powerful and highly contested gospel music industry which is very relatable to Mzansi.

“Mzansi viewers must gear up for an emotional roller-coaster of a ride.”

“Genesis” is set to air on Monday, April 21, at 7.30pm.
