Kelly Khumalo has not let recent controversies stop her from working on special projects and delivering amazing live performances.

Over the years, Khumalo has been involved in several controversies, including the murder of former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, who was shot and killed in 2014 during an armed robbery at her home.

Khumalo has been labelled a suspect in the murder and her name has come up multiple times in the trial of the five men accused of killing Meyiwa.

In 2023, she was dropped from performing at the Tribute To Women music festival due to court controversy.

The festival's statement said that they respected the legal process and wished to indicate that Khumalo was innocent until it was proven otherwise.

Khumalo also launched a gin called Controversy, which she described as embodying her character traits of strength, presence, elegance, and boldness.

Despite the controversies, she continues to get booked and her supporters attend her events from far and wide, ready to sing and dance with their favourite artist. Her latest show was no different.

Taking to Instagram, the singer shared a video from one of her shows, in which she is seen in the middle of a lively gospel performance, singing to her fans who held their hands up in worship.

“Always plugged in and connected”, she wrote in the video's caption.

This comes after she showed off her Spotify streaming numbers, proving that she still has it.

Fans showed love to Khumalo and praised her amazing talent.

Ladynomz1 wrote: “The only thing that gives me joy is that you know who you are and what you are carrying awudidekanga (you’re not lost).”

Nninipie wrote: “One thing God gave you, ke (is the) voice.”

Ramositli commented: “I was there right in front standing in the rain just for you to be on stage at Potch Dam. You were amazing. Thank you very much for the music.”

Radith_Collec wrote: “Your voice heals mama.”

Keeping her fans entertained, earlier last year she released the deluxe version of her album, “From a God to a King”, which captured the hearts of many.

The album showcases Khumalo’s talent and her capacity to move listeners with her music, with its mesmerising melodies.
