The recent death of Ukhozi FM presenter Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew her.

As people bid farewell to this remarkable woman, they find comfort in the enduring wisdom and love she shared with all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.

In a statement released to the media, Sandile Ngema, Station Manager of Imbokodo FM, expressed the sentiment that "there are things that death cannot touch“ by Jack Thorne.

Although Mbokazi-Nkambule may no longer be with us in physical form, Ngema said her impact and influence will continue to resonate throughout the universe for eternity.

“In her physical form she might not be with us, but her wisdom lives amongst us until infinity. Her exertion is something death has not touched,” he said.

He also stated that one of the many qualities that made Mbokazi-Nkambule exceptional was her unwavering warmth and hospitality. She created an environment where individuals from all walks of life felt at home, able to partake in her wisdom and kindness without reservation.

“Whenever we visited her home and offices, not once did we feel like strangers, but we felt home. We could feast, enjoy ourselves and drink from the fountain of wisdom. Not once would she complain or cast an unwelcoming eye,” said Ngema.

Ngema mentioned that Mbokazi-Nkambule’s dedication to using the power of radio and her voice to contribute to national unity and the betterment of South Africa is an indelible part of her legacy.

Her influence extended beyond personal interactions, as she used her platform to inspire and empower others, encouraging them to strive for excellence and contribute positively to society.

Additionally, Ngema said that Mbokazi-Nkambule represent the values of "indlela ibuzwa kwaba phambili," symbolising a fountain of wisdom and a woman of great stature.

“We salute her generation for the freedom we all enjoy today,” he added.
