Award-winning musician couple, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, were spotted enjoying date night at a karaoke spot in New York City, where the artists took the mic.

As they belted out some of their favourite tunes, it didn’t take long for the public to catch wind of their performance.

With social media buzzing, videos of Rihanna’s attempts at singing “Needed Me” and “Sex With Me” have gone viral, eliciting a mix of laughter and critiques from netizens.

The artist, famed for her chart-topping hits like “Work”, “Diamonds” and “We Found Love” appeared less than stellar, which led to a wave of comments and memes roasting the pop sensation for her less-than-perfect vocal delivery during the karaoke escapade.

The viral clips showcased a more candid side of the mom of two, who is usually seen as a flawless performer.

Netizens couldn't resist turning her karaoke moment into a light-hearted jab, suggesting that even the best of vocalists have their off nights.

These playful digs, however, were met with an equal number of defenders reminding critics that everyone is entitled to a little fun off-stage.

@lovetobunloved wrote: “Shoutout to Rihanna for being relatable and purposely singing like a butchered goat. She’s so fun and down to earth.”

@OneOfNickis9s said: “Maturing is realising Rihanna could never sing, she just made iconic BOPS and that’s okay.”

@therihprint commented: “A video of Rihanna being drunk singing while having fun is where they cross the line.

“They are not used to this. They only know ROBOT language and it’s okay. Thank God, there are multiple videos of Rihanna out there singing LIVE with that tone that can never be replaced.”

Amid the fun, Rihanna looked stylishly comfortable in an oversized fur hat, a graphic Tupac shirt paired with jeans and eye-catching Bottega Veneta boots, retailing at a cool $1400, turning heads even as she engaged in her karaoke antics.
