Billy Ray Cyrus "couldn't be prouder" of his daughter Miley Cyrus following her Grammys win on Sunday night.

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer took to Instagram to congratulate his daughter on winning the Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted”, her collaboration with Beyoncé.

"Congratulations @mileycyrus and @beyonce on their well-deserved @recordingacademy Grammy wins! Couldn't be prouder!!!" he wrote, adding heart, party popper and balloon emojis.

While Miley attended the Grammys in Los Angeles with her mother Tish Cyrus and boyfriend Maxx Morando, her father was in Nashville, Tennessee, where he attended the Nashville Humane Association's Unleashed Dinner with Your Dog event on Saturday.

The gala marked his first public appearance since his son Trace Cyrus issued an open letter on Instagram in which he expressed concern for the country music icon following his disastrous performance at a Donald Trump inauguration celebration.

"Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you've pushed all of us away," the Metro Station musician wrote last month, referring to his sisters Miley, Brandi and Noah.

"We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew & hoping for the day he returns. You're not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it."

Days later, Trace claimed that the 63-year-old singer had threatened him with legal action over his post.

Billy Ray has since addressed the family drama online, writing: "All I want is healing for my family. I am so glad to see the message of love is uniting us. It's time to turn the page."

Miley has not gotten involved publicly. However, she previously fuelled estrangement speculation at last year's Grammys when she didn't mention her dad in her Grammys speech and subsequently side-stepped a question about the rumours during an interview.

Billy Ray still has a good relationship with his son Braison, who produced his upcoming album.
