Durban — An oil spill caused total road closure in the vicinity of the Peter Brown Interchange in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday.

A single truck crash resulted in an oil spill and closure of the N3 in the vicinity of the Peter Brown Interchange in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday morning.

The N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) warned road-users of a total road closure due to an earlier oil spill in the vicinity of the Peter Brown Interchange in Pietermaritzburg, which was causing heavy traffic congestion and delays.

“Clean-up and recovery operations are under way, but congestion and delays are expected to continue until the scene has been cleared,” the N3TC said.

She said no one was injured but the truck driver was stuck in the truck.
