IT IS the Cape Town Festival of Beer this weekend and other people in different parts of the country are dying to be here. Fortunately for us, we are here and it is great to take advantage of these kinds of festivities and events. This is coming from someone who doesn’t even usually drink beer. However, I find it more palatable when paired with food. In addition to that, I find that craft beer caters to different palates, even “beerginers” can drink it.
Beer brewers are passionate about their craft; they have great energy which gives off a superb vibe to the consumers of their products. This is not fine dining, no fork and knives required. Just flavourful food paired with delicately crafted beer. In this case the food is from some of our favourite artisanal producers. Some of the brewers have come from as far as Gauteng and Durban. Let us make it worth their while and go show them some love.
This week’s salami and coleslaw sandwich with gouda cheese has been inspired by the beer festival. Hope you get to try it at home. Enjoy it with your favourite ice cold beer. It is effortless to put together.
