Cape Town - The man accused of assaulting a woman that left her paralysed appeared in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court.
The case against Msimelelo Swekile has been postponed to January 26 due to an incomplete investigation.
Swekile, 47, who is out on bail, is charged with the attempted murder of 24-year-old Lihlasedi Murori, after he hit her with a brick, leaving her paralysed and with slurred speech.
Swekile briefly stood in front of the judge, represented by legal aid before the court was adjourned.
About four months ago the accused allegedly assaulted Murori for refusing to have sex with him after he allegedly offered her alcohol at his house.
Murori was not present in court but her family and friends came in a group to show support on her behalf.
