Johannesburg - South African white corn futures gained for a second day.
White corn for delivery in July advanced 0.2 percent to 1,851 rand a metric ton on the South African Futures Exchange in Johannesburg after rising 0.1 percent on June 20.
The yellow variety climbed 0.3 percent to 1,960 rand a ton.
South Africa is the continent’s biggest producer of corn.
Meal from white corn is used to make a staple food known as pap.
The yellow variety is for animal feed.
Wheat for July delivery fell 0.1 percent to 3,780 rand a ton. - Bloomberg News
