Johannesburg - South African soya beans rose the most in more than a week in Johannesburg.
Corn and wheat also advanced.
Soya bean futures for delivery in December rose 0.7 percent to 5,225 rand a metric ton by the midday close on the South African Futures Exchange, the biggest advance since August 27.
Yellow maize rose for the first time in five days, gaining 1.6 percent to 1,760 rand a ton.
The white variety increased 1.5 percent to 1,704 rand a ton.
Wheat for delivery in December climbed for the first time in four sessions, adding 1.1 percent to 3,645 rand a ton. - Bloomberg News
